Key Texas Legislative Races 2012: Analysis & Predictions

Monday, August 13th, 2012

Which legislative races look best for Texas Democrats this year? Where
should you and your personal Super PAC target your final few billion
dollars — or your Macanese Patacas, if you’re a Sheldon Adelson type? For
this program, we have two of the most knowledgeable political players
in Texas to provide their analyses and predictions. This is always an
interesting, important, fun program. So don’t gamble your patacas — invest
in good government and winnable races. Don’t miss this program.

Speakers:

Robert E. Jones – Executive Director of Annie’s List, which has played a key role in electing a dozen new women to the Texas Legislature. It has been named “Best PAC in Texas.” Robert is also an Adjunct Professor of political science at St. Edward’s University. Politics Magazine recently named him a “Rising Star” in national politics. He has rare insight and political acumen.

Russ Tidwell – Former State Representative Russ Tidwell represented District 49 with extraordinary talent, vision, and courage — for a few months. For two gazillion years since then, he’s been Director of Public Affairs of Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He’s older than Dog Canyon at Big Bend and no one in Texas
knows more about Democratic prospects this year than Russ.

Spectacular Door Prizes:
1. David Dewhurst, “I Am Not Now Nor Have I Ever Been No Stinkin’
Moderate.”
2. Ted Cruz, “Yes You Are.”
3. Red Wassenich, “Nothing Before Something.”
