Program:  County Judge Candidates: Andy Brown & Sarah Eckhart

Water shortages, wildfire risks, projections of massive regional growth from 1.2 million to 3 million by 2030, transportation gridlock, a decaying courthouse, environmental issues—Travis County and our region face massive challenges over the next several years. Democratic County Chair Andy Brown and County Commissioner Sarah Eckhart both have indicated that they are interested in running for the county judge seat now held by Sam Biscoe, who is retiring. These potential candidates are thoughtful, bright, and articulate. So why would they want to be county judge? We’ll find out. They have agreed to speak at the next Democratic Forum to share their visions and ideas for Travis County. The future is now—or at least pretty soon—at this next Forum meeting. This election contest promises to be spirited and informative. It begins now—with the Democratic Forum. Don’t miss it!
