About

The Central Texas Democratic Forum (CTDF) meets monthly for lunch to hear Democratic speakers and candidates. Originally founded as the Austin Democratic Forum in the 1980s, the Forum re-emerged in 2007 as a monthly opportunity for debate, education, and entertainment of Central Texas Democrats. The forum has hosted such distinguished guests as Congressman Lloyd Doggett, Senator Kirk Watson, Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell, and Democratic candidates for offices ranging from Governor to United States Senator to Congress to (former) Inspector of Hides.

The current President is Chuck Herring, lifelong Democrat, Austin attorney, and former chair of the Travis County Democratic Party. The other current officers are Ginny Agnew and Michael Murray.

Membership is $120 per year. Nonmembers are welcome to attend the luncheons, but members receive priority seating in case of overflow. Lunch is $15 for members, $20 for non-members. Reservations are required to secure a lunch, though occasionally we have enough seats and meals for a few add-ons. Please contact Judy Erben at jerben@herring-irwin.com to RSVP or for further information.
